Established in 1985 by Tony Bell, the team initially competed with classic Mini Clubmans, before dabbling with Group N Toyotas and eventually reaching the heady heights of the top-flight Supercar class in 1998 with a Toyota Corolla build by Will Gollop’s G-Tec Motorsport (and assistance from Toyota Team Europe). Tony was involved in both British and European championships at this level until hanging up his helmet at the end of 2009.
Tony’s son, David, began competing and being a big part of the Bell Rallycross Team back in 2004, leading up to the impressive setup the outfit now boasts – with over four BMW Minis that compete in both the BMW Mini Rallycross Championship and Five Nations British Rallycross Championship.
David is the lead driver of the team and secured the title of class champion in 2020. For 2021, they plan to be at the sharp end of the grid for the all-new ‘All4 Mini’ class that is scheduled to make its debut this spring.
